Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac, VFW #1273, Sears and Duhamel Radio have joined forces for the annual Boots On The Ground Project. We have high population of vets in need, and this is our chance to serve them as they have served us.
Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac, VFW #1273, Sears and Duhamel Radio will be collecting new and gently worn winter gear and toiletries. Local veteran’s service organizations will provide literature and their contact information packets. Veterans from Rapid City, Hot Springs, Ft Meade and the surrounding area are invited to come in to the Boots on the Ground “store” at VFW #1273 on Saturday November 18th from 1-4:00 PM. Each vet will be greeted by their fellow vets, offered coffee and treats and help selecting their free items. Most importantly, each vet will be thanked for their service, and connect with their fellow vets and the groups or organizations that will serve them best.
Drop off items at Rapid Chevrolet Cadillac, the VFW #1273 420 Main Street, Sears in the Rushmore Mall, or at Duhamel Radio. Cash donations are also welcome at the VFW.
Items should be new or gently used, clean, and suitable for fall and winter wear. Items include:
1) Boots – snow, combat and work boots
2) Coveralls/snow pants
3) Winter coats
4) Gloves/hats
5) Socks and underwear (NEW)
6) Jeans/Sweat pants/sweat shirts
