Firefighters made significant progress and continue to work to protect Hot Springs as the Vinyard fire burns outside of the city limits. The fire was reported Saturday afternoon and has burned 468 acres. As of 7pm Sunday, all evacuation orders were lifted although the fire is only 5 percent contained. Officials caution that evacuations may again be needed due to the erratic behavior of the fire. The forecast for the fire area calls for highs in the upper 80’s with northeast winds to 15 miles per hour.
