The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued flood warnings for areas along the White River and the Cheyenne River for this week due to snow melt and ice jams. Areas along the White River that could see minor flooding include Interior, Rockyford, and Slim Buttes. Areas along the Cheyenne River that could see flooding include Wasta. Water levels will fluctuate throughout the week as snow and ice melt form and release with the warmer conditions in the forecast. The National Weather Service cautions everyone who lives near the rivers to take precautions and to not drive in flooded areas.
