Thanks to a Small Community Air Service Development Grand, Rapid City Regional Airport may be expanding service. The $700,000 grant is intended to provide year-round, daily non-stop service to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport with American Airlines. Regional currently offers non-stop service with Allegiant Air to Phoenix Deer Valley Airport, but executive director Patrick Dame says Sky Harbor would allow for more connecting flights, which would be great for tourism. Dame says they are still working with the airline on a new route and hope to get something underway in the near future.
