In the opening performance of the National High School Finals Rodeo, Sage Kohr of Gillette placed 2nd in Barrel Racing, Bodie Mattson of Sturgis was 5th in Boys Cutting, TJ Schmidt of Belle Fourche was 3rd in Bull Riding, Jake Devereaux of Newcastle placed 9th in Tie-Down Roping, Madison Rotenberger of Ludlow earned a 2nd place finish in Goat Tying, Riley Donnelly of Elk Point was 2nd in Pole Bending, Dylan Schofield of Phillip was 4th in Saddle Bronc, Tiegen Marchant of Newcastle was 5th in Steer Wrestling. In the Team Standings, South Dakota sits 7th and Wyoming 8th. South Dakota is 3rd in the Boys Standings while Wyoming is 10th.

 

Canyon Lake and Timberline advanced to the District Little League baseball tournament after wins on Sunday. In the B Bracket, Canyon Lake downed Harney 7-3 while Timberline won the A Bracket blanking Belle Fourche 6-0.

 

Aiken Crowley of Belle Fourche finished 7th at the USA High School Clay Target League National Championships in Mason Michigan.
