Steve began his broadcast career in the summer of 1984 at KWYR in Winner, South Dakota. He spent 15 years as sports director and was the play-by-play voice of area High School athletics. Steve has also worked at stations in Grand Island, Nebraska, Mitchell, South Dakota, and Rapid City before joining Eagle Country as the play-by-play voice of High School sports. Steve is married to Kim. They have 2 boys, Logan and Jack.

Alaska man enters guilty plea to aggravated incest in Pennington County
His case was about to go to trial, but Wednesday morning an Alaska man decided to plea guilty to aggravated incest. Steven Amy, 48, admitted to raping a girl under the age of 18. The rape happened back in October, 2012 while he was on vacation in Pennington County. Amy faces up to 15 years in prison. A sentencing date has not been set.

Wrongful death lawsuit filed by widow to be heard in Sioux Falls
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) _ A federal judge is hearing arguments in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the widow of a South Dakota State Penitentiary guard slain by inmates three years ago. Lynette Johnson alleges that lackadaisical behavior by state prison officials enabled Rodney Berget and Eric Robert to kill her husband, Ronald Johnson, during a failed escape attempt in April 2011.
